The model turned actress was presented with the honour at the awards during the Venice Film Festival on Saturday for her role in indie drama Prima, in which she stars as a ballerina, alongside Faye Dunaway.
A visibly nervous Peltz began her acceptance speech giving thanks for the "immense honour".
"To receive an award at the Venice Film Festival is something I will carry with me for the rest of my career."
She paid tribute to Dunaway, calling her an "inspiration", before going on to thank her family and husband.
"My family are my everything. My mum, dad, (brothers) Diesel and Brad and Brooklyn thank you. You always believe in me," she said.
"To have your support is the reason I can reach to the stars in the first place."
Beckham could be seen beaming with pride, with the awards ceremony coming amid his public, long-running feud with his parents David and Victoria, and siblings Cruz, Romeo and Harper.
The estrangement was once again evident as Cruz Beckham paying tribute to his family, and girlfriend Jackie Apostel, in a gushing post on social media - thanking his nearest and dearest for supporting him and his band as they performed at the Reading and Leeds music festivals.
Alongside a picture of himself with Jackie and the rest of the Beckham clan - minus Brooklyn - he wrote: "I am so grateful for everyone around me, not only are they my best friends but they are family, this journey has been so incredible and I have learned so much because of these people.
"Last but definitely not least Jackie, you honestly have no idea how lucky we are to have you, not only do you take care of me but this whole operation, from creative to strategy to mgmt.
"We are a team and would not be doing this without you. I really love you so much."
