Arsenal held, record winners Sevilla miss Europa League

Arsenal have bounced back from defeat at Aston Villa with a draw in Eindhoven against Dutch league leaders PSV in a Champions League dead rubber.

Arsenal took the lead in the 42nd with Eddie Nketiah marking his first Champions League start with a goal, but Yorbe Vertessen equalised in the 50th.

PSV hit the post as they counter-attacked brightly but Arsenal could have won the match with the last kick of the night, only for Jakub Kiwior to shoot over after Leandro Trossard had been denied.

Both teams were already qualified to the last 16, with Arsenal going through as group winners.

Lens came third in the group, winning 2-1 at home to Seville. That meant the Europa League record champions will miss out on the second-tier European competition after finishing last in the section.

Lens found the breakthrough in the 63rd minute from the spot thanks to Przemyslaw Frankowski just a few minutes after the Spanish side had hit the woodwork.

Sevilla also got themselves a penalty in the 78th. Sergio Ramos missed, but it had to be retaken because the goalkeeper moved off his line too early - and Ramos didn't waste his second chance.

Sevilla were hoping late pressure would produce a winner but it was Lens that sealed third place and the Europa League slot when Angelo Fulgini chipped the ball into the net in stoppage time.
