Brighton add to Everton's miserable run at Goodison

Brighton have compounded Everton's poor run at Goodison Park with a 1-0 away victory in the Women's Super League.

Jelena Cankovic fired Brighton to a 1-0 win with struggling Everton still without a point at their home this season.

The only goal came in the 41st minute after a bad mistake from Martina Fernandez, whose attempt to play out from the back gifted the ball to Kiko Seike.Â

The Japan forward skipped past Fernandez and cut the ball back for Cankovic to slot home her first WSL goal of the season.

Brighton are still without Australian manager Dario Vidosic, who was granted a leave of absence for personal reasons.

"As a club, our priority is to support Dario at this difficult time. We ask that his and his family's privacy is respected," Brighton's women's and girls' managing director Zoe Johnson said in a statement.

Assistant head coach Chris Roberts, with first-team mentor Arthur Brammer by his side, will be in charge for the foreseeable future.

The win lifted the Seagulls to six position on the WSL ladder while Everton remain 10th in the 12-team league.
