Adopting the defiant face he put on in the dying days of his Tottenham reign before he eventually got the push, the 60-year-old was on Friday left brushing aside the latest clamour for him to get the sack with the assertion that he wasn't feeling the heat.
It really did feel like Spurs all over again.
Less than 24 hours after Forest had been beaten 3-2 at home by Danish side FC Midtjylland in the Europa League, making it four losses and two draws in his first half-dozen games, Postecoglou was left having to field another news conference in which his future was under the spotlight.Â

"It's a valid assumption in modern football that there's always a manager under pressure, that's just part and parcel of what we do -- but I just don't think that way," was his response.
"Put it this way - I knew I was getting sacked at Tottenham about three or four months before I did, but that didn't stop me from winning something.
"It doesn't enter my head. My responsibility lies in making sure this football club progresses and gets to a position where it can challenge for things.
"If I start putting timelines to that or worry about what is going to happen next week then I am not performing the role I have been given.
"I just don't think it is helpful to anyone. At the end of the day, I concentrate on the environment, the training, the way we play, and I am still very, very strong in my belief that we are not too far away.
While it seems absurd Postecoglou finds himself in such a position after less than a month, especially when not all Forest's performances have been poor, the cries from his own team''s fans of "you're getting sacked in the morning" only told of a manager who really wasn't wanted in the first place.
And after getting rid of the much admired Nuno Espirito Santo, who took Forest into Europe, the question now is how patient Greek owner Evangelos Marinakis, who's gone through an average of one manager a season over eight years, is going to be with the Australian of Greek heritage he's supposed to be such a fan of.

Postecoglou is effectively damned by the statistic that he's first Forest boss for 100 years to fail to win any of his first six games in charge, so what would Marinakis's response be if Forest lose, while performing poorly, on a really difficult visit to Newcastle's St James' Park fortress on Sunday (Monday AEST).Â
Going into the international break, Postecoglou's future then would surely be on the agenda.
Newcastle too haven't had a great start in the league, lying in 15th place to Forest's  17th, but Postecoglou was adamant he saw the match as a "great opportunity" rather than just another trial.
"If you can go there and get a result, that certainly will give everyone a lift and the belief that we can turn our current situation around," he said.
