Cats legend Enright re-signs as assistant with Saints

Legendary Geelong defender Corey Enright has re-signed as an assistant coach under Ross Lyon at St Kilda until the end of 2026.

The Australian Football Hall of Fame member will remain a key part of the Saints' off-field team as they try to build on a promising 2023 campaign.

In Lyon's first season of his second stint at Moorabbin, St Kilda were the best defensive team last year as they made a surprise appearance in an elimination final.

In a sign St Kilda are tracking in the right direction, Enright has stuck with the club despite being based in Geelong.

St Kilda's development and learning boss Damian Carroll has also recommitted for another two seasons.

"We're thrilled to have Corey and Damian sign on for another two seasons," St Kilda football boss David Misson said.

"Corey's standing in the game is one that is universally respected .. and he is someone we are incredibly fortunate to have at the club.

"With such a young list, having a coach of Damian's calibre and character is pivotal in seeing our youth maximise their potential and ultimately develop into important players for the future.

"Alongside development coaches Jake Batchelor and Lenny Hayes, Damian has created a program which we are confident will unearth more young talent to drive us forward."

St Kilda open their 2024 season with a trip to Geelong to face the Cats on March 16.Â
