And Dockers mentor Justin Longmuir insists the 19-year-old simply "eats up" the feedback.
Reid's outstanding form in his debut season has him among the leading contenders for the AFL Rising Star award, alongside Adelaide's Dan Curtin and Brisbane Lions midfielder Levi Ashcroft.
"He's been super," Longmuir said of Reid, who kicked four goals on debut and hasn't missed a game in his first season.
"He wants to learn, get better and evolve his game, and most of all he just doesn't shirk any of those bigger moments.
"He actually goes looking for them, probably too much at times. I try to tell him to keep in role a bit more than he does."
Reid's stunning start to his AFL career led to a two-year contract extension in June, tying last year's No.17 draft pick to Fremantle until the end of 2029.
The Sandringham Dragons product has kicked 24 goals in 23 appearances and leads the Dockers for goal assists (19) this season.
"He came to the club as a midfielder and we were developing him as a midfielder, but we had injuries earlier in the season ... so we put him forward and he's flourished," Longmuir said.
"He's done a lot of work on his running patterns and his defensive work, but he just eats up the feedback and gets to work and improves.
"He's putting out a good product week in, week out now, but I'm really excited for what that's going to look like in two or three years' time."
Reid could join teammate Caleb Serong (2020) as a Rising Star winner, but faces stiff competition, most notably from Curtin and Ashcroft in a hot field.
The Rising Star winner will be named at the AFL Awards ceremony on Thursday night, along with the All-Australian team, while Geelong's Jeremy Cameron will receive the Coleman Medal as the league's leading goal-kicker.
