The cat’s out of the bag — Greater Shepparton City Council is set to host a cat adoption day.
The summer adoption day at the Shepparton Animal Shelter will hope to find one of the many cats and kittens a new loving home, with fees slashed for kittens to $100 and cats over 12 months of age down to $30.
With over 50 cats currently needing a new home, now is the perfect time to find your ‘furever’ friend.
Council’s environment manager Sharon Terry encouraged the community to come along and maybe find a new member for their family.
“It is important to remember a pet is a long-term commitment that requires attention and responsibility,” she said.
The cat adoption day will be held on Thursday, December 12 from 10am to 2pm at the Shepparton Animal Shelter.
Staff said people coming along should check out the available cats for adoption online at shepp.city/adopt and fill out the online pet adoption questionnaire which can be completed before you get to the shelter to save time.
All cats have been vet checked, desexed, microchipped, vaccinated, treated for worms and fleas and are ready to take home on the day.
Make sure to bring a carrier to take your new furry friend home, or purchase one from the shelter on the day.
