French golfer Agathe Laisne wins NSW Women's Open

Former LPGA Tour player Sarah Kemp was the leading Australian in a tie for fifth at 12 under.

It was Laisne's first win on the WPGA Tour of Australia and the Ladies European Tour in the co-sanctioned event.

"I just tried to make as many birdies as I could," she said.

"I felt the pressure because I knew people were around (watching us), so it could have been me, could have been someone else."

The tournament began on Thursday in heavy rain which caused play to be suspended for the entire afternoon.

Laisne played her second and third rounds on Saturday and was within two strokes of the lead going into the final round.

Laisne was still three shots off the pace with six holes to play on Sunday before powering into contention with an eagle on the 13th.

She then overtook the faltering Oh in the closing holes.

The only other French player to win the NSW Women's Open was Joanna Klatten back in 2014.
