Keogh has dined out on the Swans this season, 33 disposals in the Bombers 52-point round five win backing up his performance at the weekend.
After playing 10 of the first 11 matches of the season, Keogh spent four weeks on the sidelines, including defeats to Seymour and Echuca. He has been steadily building for the last three weeks and exploded on Saturday.
Seven of his eight goals for the season have come in the past three weeks as he has spent significant time in attack.
His 35-touch game included 13 marks as he linked up with Kaine Herbert (33 possessions) and ruckman Zac Norris (24 possessions, 34 hit outs and 12 clearances) to dominate the midfield.
Keogh’s only blemish for the afternoon, which included seven entries into the attacking 50-metres, was four minor scores.
Norris was outstanding, all but four of his 24 touches were in contested situations, he had 18 ground ball gets and sent the ball inside 50 on nine occasions.
All of Lachie Smith’s four marks were taken inside the forward-50 as Kyabram won that count 17-6. The intercept mark tally was 17-13 in the Bombers’ favour as key defender Jason Morgan pulled in six intercept marks.
As was the case in round five, Shepparton Swans had significantly more disposals (30 in fact), but was well down on the contested ball count (+23 for Kyabram).
The Bombers took eight more contested marks, had nine more clearances and, for one of the few times this season, broke even in the tackle count. That was on the back of nine tackles from Josh Dillon.
