Sam Rae and Matt Burnell gave their first speeches to the lower house on Monday, outlining their ambitions for the 47th parliament.
Mr Burnell pledged to ensure parliament set the standard for workplaces across Australia.
"It is not a right to be here, it is an honour bestowed on us by the people," he told parliament.
"We cannot continue to turn a blind eye to unacceptable behaviour, we must set the standard."
Meanwhile, Mr Rae is the inaugural member for the seat of Hawke, which was contested for the first time in 2022.
The electorate's namesake - former Labor prime minister Bob Hawke - is Mr Rae's political hero.
"His enthusiastic ambition for our great country was fuelled by his zealous belief in its exceptional potential, a belief that I share," Mr Rae said.
He paid tribute to the Hawke legacy, his widow Blanche d'Alpuget and the extended family.
The concept of prosperity was fundamental to the challenges Australia faces, Mr Rae said.
"Too often, the maximising of prosperity for the many is usurped by the constituency cravenly clambering to secure the largest portion at the expense of the greater good," he said.
"I'm proud to be a member of a government that will capitalise on the natural strengths of our country, address our shortcomings with constructive honesty and always be guided by our values.
"We will invest in a prosperous future, in health and education ... we will face historical injustices ... we will unlock Australia's true economic potential."
Mr Burnell said he too would ensure Labor Party values were upheld in parliament.
"We are staunch in our pursuit of fairness, equality and social inclusion," he said.
"We have a moment in time, a moment where we must be bold and push the boundaries of the possible to achieve the impossible."
