“We have come a long way from when we started our first vaccination clinic earlier in the year,” practice manager Amelia Carroll said.
“It has taken a lot of hard work from all the staff and they have done extremely well throughout the process — it definitely hasn't been easy co-ordinating it all.”
Since the clinic began offering AstraZeneca in April, and Pfizer later in July, 1944 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine and 309 doses of Pfizer have been injected.
Currently, the clinic has more than a thousand bookings for the combined vaccines. While the process has not always run smoothly, especially in securing supplies, the program has seen vast improvements in recent weeks, with extra doses being pushed through the system.
“As for the community, it has been great to see the response to the vaccination clinics and their patience and understanding during the process,” Ms Carroll said.
Pfizer vaccinations are provided on Tuesdays, with Wednesdays and Thursdays allocated to AstraZeneca and plans to open up Mondays for extra Pfizer vaccinations in September.
