The Rotary Club of Deniliquin has celebrated a remarkable milestone - 75 years of service to the local community.

A special luncheon gathering was held at the beautiful Warbreccan Stables at the weekend.
Rotary in Deniliquin began in 1950, when a group of forward-thinking locals - led by inaugural president Ron Prunster - established the club with a vision of strengthening the community through service and fellowship.
Since its memorable charter celebration for 200 people on the balcony of the Royal Hotel, the club has grown into a vital part of Deniliquin’s community fabric.
And current president Iain Goodway said over the past 75 years, the club has contributed to countless initiatives.
“These include supporting local organisations and events, youth development programs, community infrastructure projects, and fundraising efforts benefiting both local and international causes,” he said.
“From scholarships and leadership programs to major fundraising activities like the upcoming Rotary Easter Art Show, Rotary’s impact has been both broad and enduring.”
The anniversary event brought together Rotarians past and present, community leaders, and special guests, including Member for Murray Helen Dalton and Rotary District Governor Emma Davis.
“The occasion provided an opportunity to reflect on the club’s history, celebrate its achievements, and recognise the many individuals who have contributed over the decades,” Mr Goodway said.

“While the day focused on honouring the past, there was also a strong emphasis on the future.
“Like many service organisations, Rotary is evolving, and the Deniliquin club is keen to welcome new members – particularly younger people – who are looking to connect with others and make a meaningful contribution to their community.
“As the Rotary Club of Deniliquin looks ahead to its next chapter, it remains committed to its guiding principle of Service Above Self, ensuring that its legacy of community support continues for generations to come.
