The development on the vacant 255-273 Allan St property has been stagnant since the two businesses that previously occupied the space were bought out last year.
The two properties on the corner of Allan St and Albion St were previously owned by Chilli Thai Kyabram and Kyabram 4WD & Camping.
Kyabram 4WD & Camping moved out of the space last June, and Chilli Thai Kyabram moved out of its space around October of last year.
Moama Plaza developer Chris Sime said “all the preparatory works have been done”.
Mr Sime also said Campaspe Shire Council had had dealings with a “multinational firm” for “over a year”.
“We have a lot of projects and developments, and Kyabram is no different to others,” he said.
Mr Sime said the “multinational food brand” would “deliver community development” and provide employment opportunities and recreational opportunities for students, especially.
“They are prepared to put their brand into that town, but when those brands come into the town you get whiny, miserable people that don’t support it … but 99 per cent of the people support it,” he said.
As per the listing on Development Ready, the property is on the market for $3.7 million, spanning roughly 4000 square metres.
“We want the town to grow, we want the land to be sold, and we believe that all the other businesses will feed on that brand,” he said.
A council spokesperson said the planning application for the Allan/Albion property was at the “final stage of review”.
According to Victorian Government website VicPlan, the zone that the property is identified as being under, ‘Commercial Zone 1’, is used to “create vibrant mixed use commercial centres for retail, office, business, entertainment and community uses”.
