And, in keeping with the traditional sayings that are a part of the Kyabram community leader’s vocabulary, “the show will roll on”.
Mick and his support team will revert to a tried and true method to raise the money that is usually injected into the dementia organisation that he was so integral in starting.
Kyabram’s second Dementia Ride and Drive Day will be held on Saturday, April 6, repeating an event staged two years ago as an addition to one of Mick’s five country-to-city walks.
The event will wind its way through the back roads, from Allan St in Kyabram to Undera, starting at 10am and finishing with lunch at a popular watering hole, the Undera Hotel.

$1.9m state-of-the-art trades centre
Cobram Anglican Grammar School has announced a state-of-the-art trades centre will be built to give students the best opportunity to be trade-ready upon finishing school.
The centre will include open working areas for senior school robotics, car mechanics, metalwork and timberwork classes.
The Trades Centre will incorporate cutting-edge equipment that is best practice, such as laser cutters, welders, KUKA robotics, CNC machines, drones, a water jet cutter, a 3D printer and a car hoist.
Much of the machinery will require students to learn coding to operate, therefore adding another skill that the students can use in their post-schooling life.
The new centre will also be equipped with classrooms for theory work.
Celebrating women in service
Echuca-Moama will host what could be regional Australia’s first major service dedicated to women in service - during war and times of peace.
Service which extends beyond those in the ranks of the military to acknowledge and thank the many women who served as contractors and volunteers - and who have largely been ignored by history.
The Women in Service event will be held at Moama RSL Memorial Gardens at 11am.
It will be followed by a lunch and memorabilia display with two of Australia’s most accomplished military women as its keynote speakers and Abbey Holmes as the MC.
Tickets to the Women In Service tribute are $20 (for a two course lunch) and bookings for the event at 12pm on April 9 are essential.
They can be made online at moamarsl.com.au or call Moama RSL on 5482 6677 or email paula@moamarsl.com.au.
