This trio of Kyabram Bombers, Jason Morgan, Liam Ogden and Tom Holman, won’t agree — and they’ve got 13 reasons why.
When Kyabram claimed its fourth GVL flag since 2013 two weeks ago, the trio collectively took their number of senior premiership wins to 13.
Tom has savoured five flag wins and Jason and Liam four in the period from 2013 to 2025.
The Bombers won praise for their orderly premiership celebrations after beating Rochester for the flag two weeks ago and this Saturday night will cap off their celebrations with the club’s awards night.
Street naming
A reader of this column has asked why can’t a residential developer in Kyabram — and there is a bit going on at the moment in the town in this regard — name some of the new streets after some of the town’s sporting greats.
‘‘They were once recognised by a gallery at the Kyabram Club but for some strange reason they were pulled down and banished to a back room not to be seen by the public since,“ the reader said.
‘‘I always thought the gallery was a drawcard for the town where our sporting heroes got the recognition they deserved.
‘‘Kyabram has always been known for its ability to produce elite sporting people, and they deserve better.’’
Sounds like a good idea.
Fruit fly program
Lions Club of Kyabram members will again be conducting the fruit fly program this coming season.
Kyabram Lions Club members will be rebaiting fruit fly traps this Saturday, October 4.
Lions members will be outside the former Salvation Army Op Shop in Bradley St (next door to the Kyabram Fire Brigade) from 9am to noon.
The rebaiting cost is $6 per trap and new traps will be available at a cost of $16.

Milestones reached
Last week notable milestones were being ticked off in Benalla and Berrigan.
Benalla’s Art Gallery has reached its 50th year milestone, the Benalla Historical Society a 60-year milestone and in NSW Berrigan Rural Fire Brigade has just celebrated 125 years of service to the community.
The Berrigan milestone is quite significant.
It has been established that the Berrigan Rural Fire Service was the first bushfire brigade to be formed in country NSW.
Rates paid
Murrumbidgee Council has recovered all long-term outstanding rates.
Ten properties were put up for auction and all were sold.
Seven of the properties had outstanding accounts of less than $10,000 but three owed more than $30,000.
The properties were located at Jerilderie, Coleambally and Darlington Point.
School celebrations
Some interesting memorabilia emerging in the countdown to celebrations of Finley Public School’s 130th anniversary to be held this weekend.
Organisers have unearthed a punishment book the school had in a bygone era and you can bet a lot of reunion-goers will be looking for familiar names that found their way into it.
Company fined
Onkar Group Pty Ltd has been hit with a $1.35 million fine after the death of a sub-contracted delivery driver in a crash on the Goulburn Valley Hwy at Kialla West in August 2022.
The delivery van drifted across double lines and collided with a truck.
WorkSafe inspectors believed Onkar failed to provide a system of work for fatigue management for delivery drivers and issued improvement notices.
Square dinkum
G’day.
I arrived very late to the ‘Kleptomaniacs Anonymous’ meeting ... every seat was taken.
Hooroo!
