Power was out in parts of Mulwala for most of the day on Monday after an auger caught powerlines and snapped a power pole in Bayly Street Mulwala beside the roundabout around 9.15am.

The tractor pulling the auger in Bayly Street was turning right at the roundabout when it made contact with powerlines .
Melbourne Street Mulwala traffic was diverted to behind businesses in Melbourne Street and Bayly Street for a vast majority of the day before the road was reopened to all traffic after 6pm.

Various police officers were on the scene directing traffic and investigating the cause of the accident. Fire + Rescue NSW Mulwala Unit members were also in attendance before Essential Energy crews commenced work to replace the broken power poles.
