The Kyabram Gift will be holding its annual Monster Garage Sale on Saturday, October 25 with funds going towards supporting local cancer patients.
Around 30 homes will open their garages, offering a treasure trove of affordable books, homewares, furniture, and unique finds.
The Kyabram Gift committee member Dey Alexander said the $30 registration fee for houses to participate in the sale goes entirely towards the charity funds.
“At any one time we have around 30 recipients who are people from the local community who have a cancer diagnosis,“ she said.
Ms Dey explained that the funds will help ease the financial burden for patients facing additional expenses due to cancer treatment.
The Gift offers practical support through fuel vouchers for appointments, grocery vouchers, assistance with pharmacy bills, and help to make special occasions like Christmas more manageable.
The vouchers are all sourced from local businesses, strengthening the connection the Kyabram Gift has to the local community.
“This is just one of the ways the town can support these individuals,” Ms Dey said.
To plan your bargain-hunting route, a map of all participating homes in the Monster Garage Sale will be available in the October 22 edition of the Free Press.
