State Member for Euroa Annabelle Cleeland welcomed the strong turnout at two Farm Drought Support Grant drop-in sessions at her Benalla office, with local farmers supported to complete their $5000 grant applications.
Ms Cleeland noted that the strong response demonstrated the critical importance of hands-on assistance when navigating complex application processes.
“These grants are not perfect, but they help with real on-farm costs,” Ms Cleeland said.
“That includes water infrastructure, stock containment, fodder and grain storage, water carting and pasture re-seeding.
“I am so pleased eight local families are now on the way to receiving support they are entitled to.”
Ms Cleeland thanked Jim Moll and Tony Flett from AgBiz Assist for their hands-on help.
“Jim and Tony made sure every farmer who came through the door left with their application under way,” she said.
“Their expertise and commitment were invaluable.”
If eligible farmers missed the sessions and need help with their application, Ms Cleeland urged them to contact her office.
“We are here to make sure you can access the support you deserve,” she said.
“While recent rain has brought some relief, farmers are still carrying the heavy financial burden left behind by the long dry spell.
“That’s why it’s vital we continue to deliver practical support because the bills don’t stop when the rain starts.”
