An audit undertaken by the AFL Goulburn Murray Commission of three clubs - also including KDFNL club Stanhope and MFNL club Barooga - found "... satisfaction with the outcome of the findings of all three clubs where no sanctions will apply, and all found to be within the correct parameters of their salary cap CCSP".
The audit was completed based on the clubs' 2018 season, where the Bombers lost just one match for the year.
Bombers president Rob Schumann said the club was happy to have been involved in the process.
“It provided us with an opportunity to have our processes and record keeping reviewed and tested to ensure that we were following the rules and meeting the requirements of the AFL commission, and allowed us to get some clarification around best practice,” he said.
“The audit process and the information we were required to provide the auditor was quite extensive and the end result was that we were praised for the level of record keeping we have in place.
“This outcome reinforces to our executive and board at Kyabram FNC that we have the right systems in place and reassures the football community that we are operating within the cap.”
Brent Sloan, president of Stanhope FNC, said he was happy with the findings for the club.
“The audit process was very professional, and our club was happy,” he said.
AFLGM general manager Jamie Macri said it was important to run random checks in order to ensure all clubs were acting within the rules.
“It is a timely reminder that all clubs in our region need to follow the correct measures and lodge the player contracts and declarations by the expected dates to ensure that they are compliant with the AFL Victoria Salary Cap guidelines,” he said.
