TONGALA CRICKET REUNION
Two Tongala Cricket Club “legends” returned to pad-up for the club’s D-grade team at Brose Reserve on Saturday.
Brad and Blake Campbell, sons of legendary Goulburn Valley sporting identity Des, played with Brad’s son Harry (making his cricket debut) in the match against Fire Brigade.
Brad hadn’t played a game of cricket for 18 years, while Blake last played in 2018.
Tongala won the game by nine wickets, sending Fire Brigade into bat after winning the toss and dismissing the team for 94. All three Campbells bowled, with both Blake and Harry taking wickets.
Tongala was 1-94 in reply and fittingly it was the Campbell brothers at the wicket when the winning scores were struck. Blake was not out 15 and Brad not out eight.
