The family-friendly event will run from 11am to 3pm at the shire lawns on Monday, January 26.
A barbecue will be provided, but people are encouraged to bring along their own refreshments and salads.
“We encourage families to adopt the Aussie theme, a hat, a shirt, flags will be provided,” Lions Club president Murray Ross said.
Families can enjoy traditional Australian entertainment including an open mic, egg and spoon race, kangaroo hop, three-legged race and gumboot throwing competition.
Trophies will be awarded to the gumboot throwing winner and other activities held on the day.
Children can have their faces painted with spectacular designs or enjoy cuddles at the animal nursery created by the Billabong Ranch.
While citizen of the year awards won't be presented this year, a medallion has been created to be given to children as a treasured keepsake.
