Council is seeking community feedback on almost half a dozen key draft documents to plan the financial future of the shire.
Three documents in draft stage, including council’s Revenue and Rating Plan 2025-2029, are now available for public viewing.
The documents set out to guide how the council delivers its services, maintains community assets, and manages its finances over the next decade.
Council chair administrator Graeme Emonson said council has made providing feedback accessible to all.
“To make it easy for everyone to get involved, council is offering several ways to have your say,” Dr Emonson said.
“Visit the council’s website to read the draft plans and complete a short survey for each.
“If you need assistance with the online engagement, please phone council’s Customer Experience Team, who will be very happy to assist.”
The five plans are:
- Draft Financial Plan 2025-2035 ― a long-term strategy that aims to ensure council remains financially sustainable over the next 10 years, drawing attention to the $151.7 million allocated to maintaining community assets like roads, bridges, buildings and parks.
- Draft Budget 2025/26 ― outlines how council will allocate funding over the next financial year, including the $46.5 million investment in projects like the Numurkah flood levee and Yarrawonga Multisport Stadium.
- Draft Revenue and Rating Plan 2025-2029 ― a document explaining how the council will source its funding across the next four years, including through property rates.
- Draft Council Plan 2025-2029 ― a document compiling council’s priorities and goals for the next four years, in support of delivering the Community Vision 2045.
- Draft Asset Plan 2025-2035 ― explains how council will invest in maintaining essential infrastructure like roads, bridges and buildings.
Council administration endorsed the draft budget, financial plan, and revenue and rating plan for community consultation at its April meeting.
Consultation for these three draft documents closes on Wednesday, May 28.
Meanwhile, the draft council plan and draft asset plan will be available for public viewing from Thursday, May 15.
All residents, business owners, community groups and landholders are encouraged to review the draft documents and share their feedback to council.
Consultation sessions will be held across the shire throughout May.
