The pop-up stall will give community members the opportunity to talk directly with Councillors about what matters most to them and learn more about several key Council documents currently on public exhibition.
These include:
- Draft Benalla Rural City Council Plan 2025-2029
- Draft Benalla Rural City Council Financial Plan 2025/26 to 2034/35
- Draft Benalla Rural City Council Asset Plan and Draft Asset Management Policy
- Draft Benalla Rural City Council Road Management Plan 2025-2029
Benalla Mayor Bernie Hearn said the market setting was the perfect place to connect with the community.
“We want to make it as easy as possible for people to have their say,” Cr Hearn said.
“The Lakeside Community Market is a vibrant, friendly gathering, and it’s the ideal place for us to hear directly from you about your priorities and ideas.
“These plans will help guide our work for the coming years, and your feedback is vital in shaping the future of Benalla Rural City.”
In addition to the market stall, Councillors and council staff will also host a pop-up listening session in Bridge St East from 10.30am to 1.30pm on Thursday, August 28 giving residents another chance to share their thoughts in person.
“Whether you have a specific suggestion, a concern, or simply want to learn more about what’s happening in your local area, or the key draft documents currently on public exhibition, we’d love you to stop by for a chat,” Cr Hearn said.
“Your input will help us make informed decisions that reflect the needs and wants of our community.”
