Customs House Gallery has unveiled its latest exhibition, Elemental Elegance, featuring works by 18 regional artists.

The theme saw artists explore the elements of earth, wind, fire and water through a range of art styles.
Using mediums such as acrylics, resin, clay, watercolours, photos and redgum, the artists created sculptures, spiritual expressions and paintings depicting landscapes and florals.

Among the artists is Bendigo’s Annie Thiering who is known for her deeply spiritual works that portray her love of nature.
Gallery owner Kate Villarroel said Ms Thiering’s work was powerful.
“Featured artist Annie Thiering presents a powerful series of photographic prints of mandalas she creates using natural artefacts — each piece carries deep cultural and personal meaning,” she said.

The photo collection depicts mandalas made by Ms Thiering that reflect Indigenous culture, history and connection to Country.
One mandala is inspired by the 14 elements in Indigenous culture, exploring the idea of diaspora and people settled away from their ancestral homes.
Another is rooted in Wayapa Wuurrk, a wellbeing and mindfulness practice that Ms Thiering teaches, honouring connection to Country and spirit.
The Broken Circle is also pictured, which was first created as a ground installation for the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse, and is dedicated to her late friend, who spoke of the abuse she endured in a town mission.
Finally, A Gift for Nature portrays flowers spiralling around a tree, a tribute to regeneration and hope after the devastating 2019 bushfires that tore through Victoria and NSW.
All the artworks depict elements of earth, wind, fire and water.

To see Ms Thiering’s work, and entries from the other talented artists, visit Customs House Art Gallery from Thursday to Monday between 10am and 4pm.
Many of the pieces on display are available for purchase, with smaller pieces such as clay bowls on sale for $20 upwards and hanging art pieces from $80 to $1250.
The exhibition is open until Monday, October 6.
