Kyabram singers Indi Gilmore and Josh Parker have qualified for the grand final of the Take the Mic vocal competition, working their way through a field of 240 entries to reach the final stages of the 10th anniversary competition.

The Dillmac performers have both been coached by Dillmac’s Liz Dillon for the past six years and are both Dillmac competition team members.
Josh was a second place getter in this competition when it was conducted online during the pandemic.
The live heats were staged at the famous Chapel on Chapel in Prahan, Indi going through to the grand final in the top four of her teen heat as a first time Take the Mic contestant.
All first-round contestants were chosen from their video auditions and 150 were selected to perform for an elite judging panel.
Indi and Josh were both chosen to enter their age category alongside 22 others in their heat. Half of the contestants from each heat went through to the grand final.
Tickets for the April 16 grand final were pretty much sold out on the day they were released.
Take the Mic was founded in 2013, offering invaluable stage experience and industry exposure through singing competitions and musical theatre productions.
Indi recently appeared as a soloist at Kyabram’s first annual Taste and Tunes Festival and Josh Parker has had a string of successful competitions.
Thando and Taylor Henderson were among the judges in their heats, Henderson rising to fame after placing third on the fourth series of Australia’s Got Talent in 2010.
Three years later, he became the runner-up on the fifth season of Xfactor and subsequently received a recording contract with Sony Music Australia .
Thando’s most notable appearance was on The Voice Australia. She also portrayed Effie White in Australia's first professional production of Dream Girls.
