Donations boost dialysis care

Patients at Kyabram District Health Service are receiving treatment with greater care and comfort due to a funding boost from two dedicated community groups.

The Kyabram Lions Club and the Kyabram Hospital Auxiliary donated funds to KDHS and with the two groups’ combined efforts, along with KDHS, three new renal dialysis chairs have been purchased.

The Lions club donated $1500 directly to KDHS and an additional $1500 to the auxiliary, bolstering their ongoing fundraising efforts for local health services.

KDHS chief executive officer Anne McEvoy said the donations demonstrated the strength and generosity of the Kyabram community.

“Renal dialysis is a vital service for many members of our community, and having high-quality, comfortable equipment makes a real difference to patients who spend many hours receiving treatment,” Ms McEvoy said.

“This level of community backing ensures we can continue to provide excellent care close to home. We simply couldn’t achieve outcomes like this without the commitment of our local volunteers and service organisations,” Ms McEvoy said.
