The annual Flanno for a Farmer event raises funds and awareness for Farm Angels, a charity dedicated to supporting Australian farmers facing tough times.
The couple has been asked to act as ambassadors for the cause this year and is waiting in the wings with pink flannos for the day.
Miss Brookman explained that beyond the cosy attire, the event offered a wonderful opportunity to rally behind our local farmers and showcase Farm Angels' vital work in rural Australia.
“(Farm Angels) do an amazing job of providing support for farmers and outreach to farming families, so when natural disasters like floods, droughts, or fires happen, Farm Angels will be there to provide anything they need,” she said.
“From a mental health and wellbeing perspective, I think it’s really important that we do connect with farmers because a lot of the time they’re isolated and they may not have that emotional literacy to communicate if they are struggling.
“So, to have the people that get it, and go out and support farmers, is really important.”
So how can the average Kyabramite help out?
Pull that flanno out of the back of the cupboard and slip it on in the morning on Friday, August 15.
