Police seized drugs and a gun when they executed a search warrant at an address in Mackellar St, Benalla, on Friday, September 19.
During the search, police from the Seymour Divisional Response Unit and Benalla Neighbourhood Policing Unit seized:
- Approximately 30g of methylamphetamine
- 20g of cannabis
- A quantity of prescription pills
- A sawn-off firearm and ammunition
As a result:
- A 54-year-old man was charged with trafficking methylamphetamine and cannabis
- A 43-year-old man was charged with trafficking methylamphetamine and cannabis, and prohibited person possessing a firearm
- A 54-year-old woman was cautioned for possessing cannabis
A Benalla police spokesperson said removing drugs and illegal firearms from the streets was an important step in keeping our community safe.
“We thank the community for their ongoing support in assisting police to target this type of offending,” the spokesperson said.
