Mr Taylor and Ms Gilberto, who each have three decades of experience in community radio up their sleeves, take to the airwaves at SeymourFM each Friday.
They both had their passion for the industry sparked in Wangaratta, where Mr Taylor began his on-air experience early in his teens and Ms Gilberto got a job working in the schedules department.
Mr Taylor said his uncle reading the news in Wangaratta was what sparked his interest.
“I went down at 13 and watched him very closely. I thought, ‘if he can do it, surely I can do it’,” he said.
“I ended up getting into radio in March 1977 and I worked at about 13 commercial stations.”
Ms Gilberto’s on-air career began at a community radio station in Shepparton, which is where she and Mr Taylor first crossed paths.
Her voice has been broadcast in the Goulburn Valley region for about 36 years.
Despite still living in Shepparton, the couple drives each week to Seymour because the culture at the station is so enjoyable.
“We come down here every Friday and we love doing it. It’s in our blood, you know,” Ms Gilberto said.
“I’ve been involved with radio since I was a young girl.
“We love it here. They’ve made us so welcome. The crew here are fantastic to work with.”
After working on radio together for decades, Ms Gilberto said she still enjoyed every minute of it with Mr Taylor by her side.
“We’ve been together now for about 27 years and it started from us working together,” she said.
“I don’t know what I’d do if I didn’t have him. Nothing’s too much trouble for him.
“We travel down here every Friday and he’s a bit of fun to have around.”
Mr Taylor takes to the microphone at SeymourFM first with a two-hour segment beginning at noon on Fridays.
This is followed by Rosa’s Rodeo Show from 2pm to 4pm.
