To the hardest working community members who ask for nothing in return, this is for you.
With National Volunteers Week coming up, the Kyabram Development Committee, with support from Campaspe Shire Council and the Kyabram Plaza Theatre, want to say thanks to all of our community’s hardest working members.
In celebration of the week’s theme ‘creating communities’, all volunteers in and around Kyabram are invited to attend a free screening at the Kyabram Plaza Theatre on Wednesday, May 21.
The film on the night will be The Penguin Lessons, a 2024 comedy-drama about an Englishman’s experiences of personal and political changes after adopting a penguin in the 1970s.
Alma Limbrick has spearheaded the project and said it was an important event to give a small token of gratitude for the enormous difference volunteers make in the community.
“Volunteers are the lifeblood of any community, so we just thought what better way to give back to community members who don’t ask for anything back for their time than a free movie with a snack,” Ms Limbrick said.
The event is free to all volunteers around the region, beginning at 7.30pm on Wednesday, May 21.
A drink and a snack will be provided to every attendee and bookings are essential through https://tinyurl.com/mr2b2jxc
