Blue Ribbon Day, which honours Victoria Police members who died in the line of duty, also falls on September 29.
This year’s observation is particularly relevant, following the deaths of Detective Leading Senior Constable Neal Thompson and Senior Constable Vadim De Waart-Hottart on Tuesday, August 26 in Porepunkah.
The Blue Ribbon Foundation remembers the lives of fallen officers and supports community initiatives, like funding medical equipment in honour of late members.
