Park general manager Lachlan Gordon, acknowledged the park’s long history with the Kyabram Veterinary Clinic and welcomed the arrangement.
“I am delighted the Kyabram Vet Clinic has joined us as official Platinum Partners to formalise our existing relationship,” Mr Gordon said.
“The park has been working hard to improve animal welfare over recent years. Partnering with the Kyabram Veterinary Clinic will help take us to the next level, by alleviating our animal veterinary costs.
“Veterinary services included in the partnership are general health checks, screening for disease (especially for animals arriving at the park), providing medicines and, of course, treating sick animals.
“There’s a lot of synergy between our two organisations – we are two long-standing community businesses with a shared core value of animal welfare.”
Kyabram Veterinary Clinic senior veterinary surgeon Serena Moore said the clinic was keen to continue to support the park.
“They’re a great facility who are very proactive in preventive health and disease control,” Ms Moore said.
“We’re looking forward to providing more care for individual animals and working with management to ensure continued top welfare practices are in place and preventative medicine is available.
“This partnership is also a good opportunity for us to learn more about native animals. It enables us to develop a relationship with zoos that also support the fauna park and get advice from them.
“It’s an ideal way for us to broaden our skills and knowledge – especially for those vets who want to develop their understanding and expertise around native animals.”
Mr Gordon said the Kyabram Fauna Park was appreciative of support from local business.
“We look forward to our continued relationship with all 17 of our partners, including our other Platinum partners, Kyabram and District Community Bank and the Kyabram Club,” he said.
“We also welcome inquiries from any local businesses who would be interested in partnering with us.”
