When the last day of school for term comes just one week before the AFL grand final, you have to make it a day to celebrate football.
Students at St Michael’s School traded in the playground for the Hardinge St Oval for part of the day on Friday for an action packed Footy Colours Day.
Drills and skills rotations supervised by Year 6 leaders and teachers allowed the youngsters to hone their football skills, before a longest kick competition.
Two friendly games of football were also played, with a Year 3/4 team and a Year 5/6 team each taking on teams of their own parents.
A sausage sizzle complemented the day, with the gold coin donation fee being donated to cancer assistance charities.
