Now, ‘the boys’ are delighted to be officially recognised again, claiming silver for their pickled quince at the 2025 Melbourne Royal Australian Food Awards a year after claiming the Moira Shire Excellence in Horticulture award.
Co-founder Gareth Adams said quince was an old-world fruit reinvented for the modern day.
“The flavour and aroma of quince is a strong childhood memory of mine, and to have it recognised at such a prestigious level is both humbling and exciting,” Mr Adams said.
Judges praised the delightful product, noting the quince’s excellent texture and refreshing fruity aroma.
“Congratulations on preserving the wonderful fibrous texture of the quince in this perfectly flavour balanced fruit product,” they said.
Each jar of pickled quince with gin-inspired botanicalsis created with love in small batches, with locally sourced ingredients.
The award-winning pickled quince is available at outlets across Moira Shire.
