It’s been an annual tradition for the club for a quarter-century, and this year the program will funnel funding into projects to benefit 2369 students across the region.
The presentation evening was held on Tuesday, June 10 at the Kyabram Club, where club chairman David Blake presented funding to representatives from every school within a 20km radius of Kyabram.
“This program is at the core of what we do at the Kyabram Club,” Mr Blake said.
Harston Primary School might only have seven students, but it had a big rollout of staff to receive the cheque from Kyabram Club director Dale Gillie. They were Megan Burgess, Liz Dalla-Via, principal Kaz Batson, Maggie Armstrong and Diana Archer.

“We are not just a community hub, a place where people come to socialise and relax, we are also a vital part of the whole region.
“The grants will support various initiatives, from bringing a reptile show and Melbourne Museum's travelling fossil display to Rushworth kindergarten’s 15 students, to helping Harston Primary School’s seven students visit Sovereign Hill.
“Larger schools like St Augustine’s and Kyabram P-12 will invest in outdoor facilities, including an alfresco space and a ninja warrior course accessible to both students and the community.
“Many of the staff I have spoken with said they would not have been able to achieve these outcomes without our support, and that’s great news for the whole community.”

The club also contributed to the Colin Sinclair Scholarship, funding Year 11 student Xavier Powles to walk the Kokoda Trail next month.
This follows their support of Kyabram P-12 student Matilda Sowter's journey last year.
These students serve as Kokoda Ambassadors for 12 months, speaking at Anzac Day, Remembrance Day and various community events.
