Get Active maps available for Kyabram

KYABRAM residents can access a localised Get Active map, designed to encourage families and communities to use facilities that are free or available for public use.

Prepared by Kyabram District Health Service, the map includes an easy-to-read legend that highlights several walking tracks around Kyabram, as well as playgrounds, water fountains and fitness stations.

“Getting 30 minutes of physical activity each day is great for our health and wellbeing,” KDHS primary care manager Ash Watson said.

“A walk or bike ride in our local area, using local facilities, or joining a club are great ways to keep active each day.”

The 2019 Active Living Census found walking was the most popular physical activity among Campaspe Shire residents, with 21.2 per cent participating.

Footpaths, parks, sports grounds and ovals, and off-road walking and cycling were the top four rated public facilities and open spaces used by Campaspe Shire residents.

Active play is the fourth most popular physical activity across the whole of the Loddon Campaspe region.
