She will attend the show, which is being held on Friday and Saturday, after being invited by former mayor Shane Sali earlier this year.

Before the show, she will be visiting communities in the Strathbogie region that were affected by last summer’s bushfires as well as meeting local CFA representatives.

As Australia’s Chief Scout, she will also be presenting Lauren Jefferis and Lukas Weinrowski of the North Shepparton Scouts with the Australian Scout Award. This is the highest honour a young person can achieve as a Scout.

Also on the agenda is a visit to a local primary school to see its Helping Hands program, and engagements with Rumbalara and the local ethnic community.

She will also attend a civic reception in Shepparton on Thursday night.

Following the show she’ll also be visiting Mooroopna to see the recovery that has taken place following the October 2022 floods.

It marks Ms Mostyn’s first visit to the region as governor-general. David Hurley was the last governor-general to visit the region, in 2022.
