Kyabram Development Committee has set October 23 as the big event date, with smaller monthly celebrations taking place throughout the year.
KDC was recently awarded a $10,000 grant from the Foundation for Rural Regional Renewal to support the event.
The funds will go towards both in-kind contributions and expenses, including equipment hire, catering, marketing, drinks station, cake, a history booklet and a time capsule or plaque.
The October celebration, set to take place at Wilf Cox, will provide a family-friendly atmosphere as a picnic-style event with live entertainment and food trucks.
Community enthusiasm is building, with KDC’s planning meetings attracting 50 people initially and 22 to the follow-up session, with another meeting expected in the coming weeks.
