Linda runs Aussie Hay Runners, an organisation providing fodder relief to farmers hit by natural disasters, but last week she discovered that fire had ripped through her Carlisle River property.
Thankfully her house was spared and she’s hoping her stock all survived.
Aussie Hay Runners has set up a depot to collect fodder donations at Longwood.
As news of the fires has spread, donations have started to arrive and Linda said there had already been about 10 semi-trailer loads landed at the depot. However, it was still too soon to start distribution, as the fires were not contained.
“There’s barely room to get trucks through and we don’t put our drivers at risk,” Linda said.
“As soon as it’s safe we will start deliveries.”
Anyone able to donate hay can contact Linda on 0421 972 332.
