In 1995, the world was a different place: Paul Keating was Australia’s prime minister, O.J Simpson tried on gloves in his murder trial, Campaspe Shire had just amalgamated and a young Alma Limbrick had just started at Kyabram District Health Service.

Alma's incredible 30-year milestone was celebrated in October, with formal recognition at the KDHS annual meeting on Thursday, November 27, alongside other dedicated long-serving employees.
Board director Harley Hayes thanked all the long-serving employees, but noted Alma in particular.
“Thirty years is more than a number — it represents decades of commitment, expertise and loyalty,” he said.
“Alma has been a vital part of our journey, helping shape the culture and values that we cherish today.”
Alma started her career at KDHS as an activities officer at Sheridan, before studying to become an enrolled nurse.
Since then, she has embraced diverse roles across the organisation, from lifestyle co-ordinator at Sheridan to primary care partnerships, ultimately finding her calling in volunteering where she now serves as volunteer co-ordinator.
Alma thanked everyone who had been part of her journey over the past 30 years and said all 30 of those years had been a “privilege”.
“I've worked with the most amazing people, the staff, the residents, the parents, and even when years have passed ... families of residents still stop and told me being part of this community has really helped them,” she said.
“I'm really grateful to KDHS for giving me the opportunities that really 30 years ago, I would never I would have been able to.”
