Hall committees at both the tiny district communities responded to the Facebook call-out, made during the event, which has become known as the social media flood, for volunteers to fill sandbags.

Heather Henderson co-ordinated the effort at the O’Dea Road Koyuga Hall, while Cath and Russ Pell were among those at the forefront of the Wyuna effort.
All hands on deck: Volunteers came in all shapes and sizes at Koyuga, when thousands of sandbags were filled in support of the region’s flood impacted homes and properties.
