Investigations are under way following the discovery of a man’s body south of Jerilderie.
South-bound traffic along the Newell Hwy was held up on Tuesday, June 17, after police were called to the scene about 5km south of Jerilderie around 12.30pm when a man’s body was found.
Authorities are yet to formally identify the body, although police believe the man to have been in his 40s.
The man had suffered multiple injuries.
A crime scene has been established, with an investigation now under way.
Police are appealing for anyone with dash-cam footage who travelled along the section of highway south of Jerilderie between midnight on Monday, June 16, and noon on Tuesday, June 17, to contact Finley police or Crimestoppers on 1800 333 000.
