Unfortunately, the guest speaker had to cancel due to personal reasons, but the club still put on a spectacular display of flowers and vegetables, and discussed the success of its most recent garden show.
The club donated $1000 to Jenni Walkden at Food Barn.
Members were excited to show off their latest blooms, catch up with friends and enjoy a lovely afternoon tea.
“You are always learning something,” Tom Polglaze said.
“We had a guest speaker who came and talked about potatoes and you might think there is not a lot to talk about with potatoes but he talked about all 150 potatoes and their different uses.
“Kyabram is the garden town of the Goulburn Valley.”
The trading table was a hit, making over $60.
“We have great numbers, with about 66 members at the garden club,” president Steve Graham said.
“We want to see more new members.”
Christmas lunch is on December 18, with gifts to be given and Silly Santa to be played.
The next meeting will be on January 26 at 1pm at Parklands Golf Club.
Attend for a good time and to learn the secrets of better gardening.
