The bakery has made an impressive start, raising $5500 in the first few days of its two-week campaign, working towards its $18,000 goal.
A sausage sizzle, organised with the support of Kyabram Lions Club members, kicked off the bakery’s fundraising efforts on Thursday, May 14, raising about $630 alone.
Bakers Delight Kyabram bakery manager Liz Phyland said the bakery had always been passionate about supporting the cause.
Bakers Delight and BCNA have worked together for 26 years to support Australians affected by breast cancer.
“The breast cancer network, they do an amazing job helping with information and support and counselling,” Mrs Phyland said.
“So, it’s a ... great cause that we really like to get behind here at BD Kyabram.
“It’s really nice to be able to come in and a lot of people want to tell you their stories and they kind of share a little bit of insight with how it’s affected them or their family, so it’s a really heart-warming campaign.”
With the campaign running until Wednesday, May 27, the bakery is raising additional funds through selling fun bun packs, merchandise, and raffles featuring three prize hampers with a combined value of $700, to be drawn on Thursday, May 21.
