Centenary year: Legatees Peter Fitzgerald, Stan McIntosh and Ross Coombs are all set to hit the ground running during Legacy Week, which runs from August 28 to September 1.
Legacy Week kicks off next week across Australia and Kyabram Legacy volunteers will be out and about in the district selling merchandise to raise funds to support our widows of deceased military veterans.

Legacy volunteers will have a selection of ionic badges, pens, keyrings, wristbands and a collection of teddy bears for sale during the week. Of particular interest are the new 100-year centenary bears in vintage army, navy and air force uniforms.
Legacy is a unique Australian organisation established in September 1923. Further information will follow shortly on the centenary torch relay that left London several months ago and in September will pass through Shepparton on the way to Melbourne.
In Kyabram, merchandise will be available at Kyabram Lucky Lotto and Kyabram Newsagency and there will be volunteers stationed outside Woolworths, Ian Collie Pharmacy and the IGA later in the week.
In Tongala, volunteers will be stationed outside the IGA supermarket during the week, along with mid-week in Merrigum and Stanhope.
During this year’s Legacy Week, Kyabram will again be hosting Lone Pine ceremonies at St Augustine’s on Wednesday, August 30, at 10am and Kyabram P-12 College on Thursday, August 31, at noon.
“The support from people all around our district has been amazing for over 60 years and as a volunteer group, all funds raised are spent locally supporting our widows across the district” Kyabram Legacy chairperson Peter Fitzgerald said.
