You might be new to the Edward River region, or simply looking for new ways to connect with the community.
Deni Social Link was established specifically to provide an outlet for new residents to feel welcome in the community.
Group members Adam Connally and Jenny Fellows said the idea is that if people feel a part of the community and they are settled socially, they may stay in the community longer.
The group is made up of newcomers and long-time locals who meet for information social functions.
The group is supported by Edward River Council.
Council’s acting CEO Mark Dalzell encourages anyone who has made the move to Deniliquin in recent times to take the plunge and start expanding their social networks.
“Making connections and developing a support system within a new community are so important in establishing roots and finding your place – and a way to hopefully make life-long friendships,” Mr Dalzell said.
The next event to be hosted by Deni Social Link is this Saturday at Harry Pepper Coffee in End St, Deniliquin, from 10am.
“We would love to see you, whether you are new to town or an existing resident” Mr Connally said.
“We would like to meet anyone in our community who would like to come along.”
