Roving Macca: Ian “Macca’’ McNamara and his Australia All Over broadcast crew zero in on Kyabram Yarn Bombers organiser Trish Worsforld, who was a face in the crowd at the Rochester event on Sunday morning.
ABC Radio broadcaster Ian “Macca’’ McNamara chose Kyabram as his base of operations on the weekend when he and his Australia All Over staff travelled to Rochester for a flood relief outdoor broadcast.

He stayed in the town on Saturday evening before travelling early on Sunday to Rochester for the hastily arranged broadcast which attracted almost 500 people to the railway station site.
Macca was particularly impressed by the Allan St yarn bombing display in Kyabram and sought out Trish Worsford for a live interview.
Mrs Worsforld is a key player in the yarn bombing movement and was in the crowd at the Rochester Sports Museum, which hosted the four-and-a-half hour event from 5.30am on Sunday.
Rochester’s Elaine Lees has become a semi-regular on the show in the lead-up to the live broadcast, having read a poem about the sounds that were lost to Rochester following the flood event.
She made initial contact with Macca, who then committed to travelling north for the live broadcast.
The Sunday morning event, not designed as a fundraiser, yielded an unexpected return for the town as the Lions Club received several donations on the morning.
While not charging for food on the morning, Lions club and sports museum chief Bob Knight said people insisted on giving money to the club.
“A lot of people handed over $50 for an egg and bacon roll. A Taggerty group, through the Rochester Hotel, did a raffle for us, which ended up raising about $600,” Mr Knight said.
“We ended up raising more than $3000 on the morning, which was amazing.”
Kyabram visit: Macca and his broadcast team used Kyabram as home base for the Rochester show, which was live on Sunday morning on ABC radio and was used as an unofficial fund raising event for flood victims.
