Moira House was the winner ahead of Gulpa House when Mathoura Public School conducted its annual swimming carnival last week.

The competition produced some great times and excellent sportsmanship was displayed throughout the day.
Congratulations go to the following winners: Senior Boy – Ethan Hadley; Senior Girl – Kate Krispy; 11 years Boy – Chad Ward & Jobe Unwin; 11 Years Girl – Matilda Eddy; Junior Boy – Jonathan Moorse; Junior Girl – Katelyn Eddy.
Congratulations also to those who qualified to compete at the next level in Hay.
Those youngsters who were unable to swim entertained themselves and others dressing in hula skirts and dancing around.

Good luck to local woman Kerry-Anne Jones, who is preparing to walk the Camino next year.
To prepare for the 800km walk from France to Spain, she is planning to take part in the March On Challenge which aims to prevent veteran suicide and save lives.

Mathoura Public School P&C held its annual general meeting recently.
This resulted in the election of Emily Celli as president with Jade Schultz as vice president.
Aleisha McIntosh has filled the role as treasurer and Michelle O’Sullivan is the new treasurer.
The general committee comprises Kristie Wilson, Chloe Butler, Molly Unwin, Rachael Flett and Clare Baulch.
The outgoing committee was thanked for the role it played in 2021.
Gemma Van Zutphen was acknowledged for her outstanding sportsmanship.
