More than 30 Deni High School Year 11 students were given the opportunity to sharpen their interview skills with prospective local employers last week.

The school’s Mock Interviews program invites community members into the school to provide a realistic job interview experience, with each interview lasting about 20 minutes.
Volunteers representing local businesses were involved in the full-day program, giving up to one hour each.
They were encouraged to connect with the students and test what they have been learning in school and from the First Impressions Last careers program day earlier in the year.
Based on the feedback provided by the interviewers, the school said the students proved they had gained something from the lessons throughout the year.
Overall, the participants said the interviews were an important and worthwhile experience.
It was noted the added benefit was increasing the confidence of the students.
