Held on the same day as the AFL Grand Final, the first Moonlight Markets Kyabram cemented itself as a monthly market to come back for after transforming John Pilley Reserve on Saturday, September 27.
Over 3000 attendees enjoyed the vibrant night of shopping, delicious food and lively atmosphere.
It was the first time Kyabram Community & Learning Centre had hosted the event, and according to chief executive Jennifer Savage, it was everything they had been dreaming of and more.
“We were really pleased as to how well the night came together and how close it was to the concept and what we hoped that we’d be able to deliver for the community,” she said.
“The community came with the same wanting to connect to each other and just have a great time — that just flowed through the whole evening, which was so wonderful to see.”
Beneath the moonlit sky and twinkling lights — courtesy of Campaspe Shire Council — market-goers meandered through a treasure trove of stalls, discovering everything from artisanal candles and gourmet confectionery to stylish accessories and gourmet dog treats.
While the anticipated live music performance couldn’t go ahead due to an unexpected change, Mrs Savage said KCLC hoped to have live music at the October market.
She thanked the volunteers, council and the understanding residents of Fauna Park Dve and Lake Rd, whose combined efforts and patience contributed to the market’s successful debut.
Mrs Savage said KCLC had welcomed Hannah Tuxworth from Neighbourhood House to manage the market, ensuring it became a must-visit community highlight every fourth Saturday evening.
“I’d like to encourage the community to keep coming back because we will have many different stalls,” Mrs Savage said.
“We’ve already got over 80 stallholders wanting to participate (next month), which is just incredible.
“So stay connected with us — keep coming, and let’s all keep having fun and finding great ways to connect.”
